Down By The Seashore

A few weeks ago, we took our annual trip to the coast with my mom, brother, sis-in-law and new nephew Devin. Five adults and five kids in one three bedroom condo surprisingly made for a great, great time. The weather was fantastic, the best we've ever had at the coast, and the kids were spoiled rotten. It was awesome.

Spence and Hannah did a ton of this:

Squish and Daddy did a lot of this:

Devin and Austin did a whole lot of this:

Everyone had a great time. My favorite part, aside from watching my kids love every second of every day, was the last night when we built a bonfire on the beach and made s'mores. I think the kids will remember that forever and I'm so glad we did it.

We also rode the carousel, built sandcastles and flew kites and had lots of ice cream treats along the way. It was a wonderful trip and I can't wait to go again next year. Thanks Mom!

My 6

I've been tagged to describe my life in six words so here goes:

1. Complete

2. Blessed

3. Loving

4. Fun

5. Hopeful

6. Joyous

That may be too much optimism even for me, but life is truly wonderful at the moment and I'm relishing every second.

I tag Kelly, since everyone else has been tagged!

Bye, Bye Miss American Thighs

Today marked day 1 of Project Lose-The-Baby-Weight-And-Pre-Baby-Weight-And-Never-Be- Chunkified-Again Challenge. I was hoping to start last week but since it was Mastitis Monday, I had to rearrange my plans. Now that things are flowing normally, I'm all about losing these rolls once and for all.

I'm happy to say that I made it through my workout as planned and even managed to squeeze in a bunch of crunches on the ball and some serious stretching time. Thanks Austin for snoozing and letting me get er' done. I have a long ways to go but in the words of the amazing Marilyn, I can do hard things.

The workout felt great, although it was weird having all these parts in all different places than before, but I trudged along and made it through. It's amazing what 10+ months of absolutely no ab training will do to your mid-section. It sort of looks like the jowls of a dog, a really fat and ugly dog, but my goal is to fix that right up. Surgically, if necessary.

In the meantime, please don't offer me any goodies. No ice cream or pie, pizza or pasta. And if you see me with anything from Sonic other than a diet cherry limeade, please smack me across the face. I give you full permission.

I can't wait to feel good in my own skin again!

I'm Sorry But Thank You

To everyone that I owe thank you cards to (and there are a lot of you) please don't think I'm an ungrateful troll. I will get to it as soon as this devil virus leaves my body. But in the meantime, please know how much you are appreciated!

I Love Me Some Keflex

Let's see. Where should I start?

Should I detail the fabulous Seaside vacation we just returned from?

No, too tired.

Should I regale you with the details of Squish's birthday, which was just as fabulous?

No, too sore.

Should I shake my fists angrily at my left breast which was found standing at attention at four this morning, looking like a part of my body I haven't seen since watching first-run episodes of My So-Called Life?

Yes, I should, because it means that the mastitis has returned and boy oh boy, is it ever ticked at me.

Temperature of 101? Check.

Alternating sweats and chills? Check.

Throwing up? (This is a new one for me) Check.

Boob that looks like something sculpted by Dr. Rey? Check.

Bring on the drugs.

Vacation

What's a new family of 6 to do with a 2 1/2 week old?

Head to the beach of course to meet up with more family for a mini-family reunion. Five adults, three kids, to babies 3 months and under and one very large dog.

Wish us luck!
