Anything Other Than Helium

We are in desperate need of some boy names, especially since Helium is at the top of my husband's list. (He always seemed smart before, didn't he?)

Anyway, the names that I am partial to don't go with Johnson and I'm in a fit about it. I love Jackson, but really, Jackson Johnson? And I really love Harrison but we all know you can't have a Harry Johnson. Ahem.

So, please, offer up the goods in boy land and give me something to ponder. I'm open to anything.

Except Helium.

I thought you already had a name, but were keeping under wraps? Or was that Jackson?

If you want to go really crazy then you could name him Josh or Jake, then we could have even more names in our families in common.

Okay, let's be serious:
I like Andrew (although you might have to ask Carson if Andrew Johnson was a president...it sounds familiar)
Owen
Henry
Zachary
Luke
Noah
Benjamin

I'm really into the old, classic names right now. And yes, I agree. Harry Johnson would NOT be a good thing!

I am so not the person to ask! We are having the same dilemma. Not only that but the names I like are very ahhhh original to say the least:) I second (or is that third?) the NO on the harry Johnson! That is just asking for it.

Roman
Ammon
Eric
Ethan

Anyway those are some popular and not so common names.
Have Fun picking your little guys name.

Helium? That's almost as bad as the guy in our ward in Oregon that wanted to name his kid Rooster... yeah.
I guess it depends on what kind of names you're looking for... more modern? More old fashioned?
I've always loved the name Levi... here are a few others I really like:
Ethan
Jace
Tanner
Nathan
Kaden
Justin
Logan
I'm having a hard time remembering your husband's and son's name... hopefully I haven't listed them there! I would feel a tad silly...
And yeah... stay away from Harrison... um... yeah...

Boy names are the hardest! I really like Jack. But, Jack Johnson is a little too "of the moment". Good luck, I know you'll come up with something fabulous!

Here are some names I just pulled from younger nephews and cousins that I like:

Zack
Decker
Garrison
Henley
Caleb
Kyler
Parker
Cameron

I think coming up with boys names are super hard too. You want something that sounds masculine and cute. With our kids names, we always imagined what they would sound like being announced over a loud speaker at a sporting event. I know, we're weird that way. Good luck!

Connor is going to be so sad you're not naming your baby Helium... Has Brad considered Argon?

Here's my faves...

Alex
Brennan
Brody
Austin
Mason
Carter
Isaac
Landon
Hayden
Luke
Logan
Andrew
Harris

That last one might be too close to Harry... but I still love it.

Look back at some of your ancestors names and use one of their last names as your baby's first name. I love this. Examples are my boys middle names:

McKay
Ellis

Names like this are not only unique, but have some family significance.

Boy names are so hard for our family. We were still trying to decide a boy name in the hospital. I'll keep thinking.

Karen, that's so funny, your two picks for boy names are my cousin's sons names. But yeah, no Harry Johnson. Too funny.

I LOVE the name Grayson and would name my next son that except then I would have a Payson and a Grayson. I don't think so. It also comes with the nickname Gray, which I love just as much.

First of all, I'm so glad I read this before my drive to Spokane last night. It occupied my mind while only country and christian rock were coming in on the radio station. So here's what I was thinking:

1st choice: Hunter
why: You already have two S names - a boy and a girl. You have an H girl name so the boy name has to start with an H. The girl names end in the -uh sound. Spencer's name ends in the -er sound, which makes Hunter the obvious choice for this little boy's name. I'm all about finding the pattern and sticking to it. There are other H names ending in -er that I thought of but don't like.

2nd choice - Jacob or any J name not ending in -son.
why: I love some alliteration! hannah harker, maddie myers, zoe zornes, brynnley beck being some of my favorites! Can't you picture a little Jake Johnson running around? So cute! And it goes along with yours and Tiffani's family's common names!

So those are my choices. I had lots of time to think, I know!!

Let me try this again:

by the way I love McKay!
