My life has two speeds: go & go-ier. Fast & Faster. More & More-ier.
You get the idea.
In typical Johnson fashion, we dashed off camping for the weekend with about 12 minutes notice. Michele called and she, Saray and her dad were livin' it up at Priest Laker and looking for company (and someone who owns a jet-ski!) so we threw everything in the car and headed out first thing Friday morning. After a four hour drive and a stop at my kids' new favorite place, Sonic, for a yummy-yum lunch, we found ourselves at the end of Reeder Bay Road in a fabulous campsite.
We had a blast.
We laughed, swam, cried, ate, laughed some more, cried some more, and took a serious beating thanks to Bizradicus on the tube. (This is where I would post pictures of our tube-riding experience, but me, in a lifevest, face-down on a tube, does not make for PG viewing.) It was completely blissful and I am so, so glad that we live our lives in constant go-mode or I know we would have missed out on great memories with remarkable people.
Sometimes it really IS more important to leave the dishes in the sink and have fun with those you love. Isn't that what summer is all about?

I love that you guys did that, and I envy that. We tend to be the kind that doesn't do anything unless we plan in advance. But I long to be spontaneous and do more. Because I think you are right, that is what families memories are made of- not cleaning out the basement!
It sounds like the weekend was loads of fun. I agree, it is important to have fun with those you love. When you look back, you never remember the tedious day-to-day tasks, you always remember the fun memories.
I'm so glad that Michelle got to smile and laugh and cry with her close friends. It sounds like it was just what you all needed.
I also like that you life it go-ier. Love it!
I am so sore (I may have whiplash) and ready to do it again!!! Such fun...It was like being a kid and not wanting to go home from a friends house. Mass love to the van packin Yonsons! It was just what we needed...the jet ski I mean. :) Love you guys!
