Live From New York! It's Saturday Night!

Remember Saturday nights when we were in high school? Wondering what the night would hold, which cute boy you'd see while out, what you were going to wear?

Saturday nights for me while in high school usually consisted of first going to Red Robin with my girlfriends for "clucks and fries" and then off to whatever was offered for us to do. The night always brought laughter, fun, drama, and the latest in who liked who, who didn't like who, etc.

How the mighty have fallen.

Saturday night found me, in my sweatpants, at the movies to see 27 Dresses with Heather. We both had our glasses on, sat way up top, and watched all the well put together women come into the theater to enjoy the movie. It was hilarious.

Also funny--Heather made the comment before the movie that she's a realist, which had me thinking about my own optimistic ways. At the end of the movie, I was caught up in the cheesy love story of it all and Heather commented that James Marsden's clothes were all wrong for his part, which of course had never even occurred to me. We both liked the movie but it was funny to see how different our perspectives were.
As we walked out, I was thrilled that we didn't run into anyone we knew. Thanks for the fun night heather!

Yeah, you forgot to mention the part where we sneak in drinks in our mammoth bags and I don't eat candy because of the awesome diagonal rubberband on my braces- SERIOUSLY, how do Jeremy and Brad resist???!!

Heather, that was hilarious! Oh, the joys of being, well, not a teenager anymore! But seriously, isn't there such an inner peace that comes when you're old enough to go to the movie with a friend in your sweats and glasses and laugh about it and be okay with it? Could we ever have done that in high school? Yeah right, we'd be huddled down, mortified, missing the whole movie while we prayed no one saw us. Yay for you guys.

Sounds like fun! How funny that you guys had completely different takes on the movies.

I love just being in sweats--it's the best. Though, I'll admit, in high school, unlike Alicia, I actually would go places in sweats, hair pulled up and no makeup on. I guess that shows my supreme laziness!

My Saturday nights almost always included Red Robin and fries as well. We would hang out there all the time, this big huge group of mormon punks.

I don't really miss those days. Your Saturday night sounds really nice to me.

Oh, I wish I had known you guys were going to that! Alicia and I were planning on going to that movie that night, but her headache was still too horrible so we decided to wait for another night. Nate almost shoved me out the door to go see it by myself (gasp!). By myself!!! I should have, it would have been fun to run into you two and tag along. :-)

Sounds so fun. Deb Spurgeon and I have a tradition of seeing the midnight movies before the premier. We are the oldest ones there with mostly all these young guys. The last time we went to see Oceans 13- The audience went wild when we (being the only girls) yelled GIRLS. We felt pretty darn special that night. They still didn't hold a candle to Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon though.

I just thought James Marsden was dreamy. . . why is Heather focusing on his wardrobe??

She wasn't consumed by his wardrobe like I made it sound...she just thought he could have spiffed it up a bit for the final scene when...well, you know. He WAS at a wedding afterall....
