Thanks Munna

Dear Hannah,

I've been mulling a post about you for several weeks now, primarily because there is much to say about the little girl you've been lately. You've been acting much more 15ish than 5ish and it's been alarming to Dad and I to say the least. The mood swings, the drama, the flare for the overly dramatic, it's been a bit much. To say that you are passionate about your feelings would be an understatement. You are passionate about everything all the time and it tends to leave my head spinning.

But last night? When I had finally sat down at the kitchen table, exhausted and swollen and all over yucky feeling and Sienna needed something from the fridge? And you hopped right up to get it for her without being asked and without saying a word?

That was awesome.

And I knew that my sweet little girl was still in there and that her loveliness would shine again.

Love you,
Mama

What an adorable picture of Hannah.
(How do you get your floors to shine like that?)

She's a gem. You've done a great job mom!

Ok. Freaky... Kelly's comment was what mine was EXACTLY going to say.

I love it when kids do things for us without being asked. She's adorable, and I'm glad she noticed that you needed a little help. I hope you are feeling good!

First of all I need to know How do you get your floors to shine like that?
Hannah is a sweet girl! It so nice when they do things without being asked.
Oh and I am starting to understand all about girl drama. It does make your head spin.

Hannah really is as sweet as they come.

This will sound snotty no matter how I say it, but my floors shine like that because we laid an Italian glazed tile that always looks that way. Most people who haven't been here think that the floor is wet but it looks like that all the time, clean or dirty. And while they are completely gorgeous and I wouldn't give them up, they do require frequent sweeping and mopping because their shiny surface shows EVERYTHING.

Glad you like them!

I can totally sympathize with you Karen. I know that feeling of looking at your little girl and wondering where all the sweetness has gone and then feeling thankful when it emerges again. Sometimes I feel like I need a support group. HA! I think Hannah is a darling little girl.

The first thing I noticed was the adorable little girl. Then the uber-shiny floors.

That is the Hannah I know! You are doing a great job! Her positive passion will shine most of the time as an adult! Happy parenting!
How was her testing?
She told me it went "good"? I am excited to see how one of my star students did?
I am serious about the date with the girls....How is May 13th to be exact!? Serious! I know it is a tuesday...but you wouldn't have to make so many runs....anyway, check your calendar!

When my girls went through that phase, and they all do, I just thought to myself: They are getting it all out now and as teenagers they'll be able to control those raging hormones and we'll all be happy.
She has grown so much.

My oldest is a boy, as you know, and I often have the same thoughts, (the sweetness has left...) but then he'll do something so sweet and helpful. I love that! I'm often surprised at the intuition they have, when they want to and how perceptive they are for being that age! You are a great mom!
PS- I am so jealous of your shiny floors! WOW!

I won't make a fuss about the shining floors. Gorgeous. But I will make a fuss about your daughters twinkle in her eyes. What a cute and thoughtful post Karen.
