Another Questions Answered By The PRP

In case you're wondering what the phrase "hell on earth" means, I'd like to clarify. H.O.E is travelling to the McNary Wildlife Refuge with 60 first graders on an unairconditioned school bus and then spending the next FIVE freaking hours in the direct sun on a 95 degree day learning about midges and nymphs.

good song choice. Id never seen the video for that, kinda cute.

Yeah...can't wait for my day with school kids and fieldtrips. I grew up in Hermiston so I've been to the McNary Refuge like 1,000 times. Booring!

Good times. Doesn't sound like the field trip Nick just took on Wednesday... He and the other 29 fourth graders hopped on a fancy charter bus with plush upholstery and watched "Happy Feet" on the 6 or so TV screens all the way to Seattle where they hopped on an Argosy cruise ship to Tillicum Village on Blake Island. Then they were treated to a fabulous smoked salmon luncheon all the while watching native American dances on stage. The weather was AMAZING...about 80 degrees and sunny. I wish I could've gone, but I couldn't get the day off from work. BUMMER!!

Freak!!! The Westside has much better field trip options than the desert over here. I bet Nick had a BLAST!

Sheesh I miss you guys! When are we getting together? Any chance we could go back to the lake house? Or you can come here. Or we can go there. Really, the together part is all I'm concerned with!

That is a rotten way to spend the day! Thanks for sharing a little bit of hell on earth.

I like your new profile picture. Very fitting for you I think!

Most activities involving an over abundance of 1st graders will not end well. For example: I went with my sons class to a corn maze in Hermiston... we got in there at instantly 5-10 of the craziest kids in the grade just take off. Do you know how hard it is to locate 1st graders in a corn maze?? Here's hoping the rest of your day is GOOD! Eat some chocolate or something :)

that should say... we got in there AND instantly... I really need to proof read these things... lol

Karen, did you guys go over to Burbank, or over by the McNary Dam? When I was in high school I was a science camp counselor and we took our kids on a similiar trip to the place over off the highway in Burbank, where we traipsed around on a similar boooorrrriiinggg, hot tour. Oh, the things we do for the kids right?

I miss you too!! We MUST get together soon, I'll talk to Connor to see if there are any free weekends coming up. I don't care where we meet either, although... I am dying to see your new digs. :)

Maybe you should suggest an alternative field trip.

The only thing that would make it more hellish is humidity.

Hey that's my McNary Refuge your talking about! I love that place. As long as I don't have to actually go there. It is beautiful to look at.

Ok, I see your point. H.O.E.!
