Here Batter Batter!

One of the things we have most been looking forward to this summer finally happened this last weekend...

We took the kid's to a Mariners game!!!

I don't think Spencer has recovered yet.

The day was fantastic for a million reasons, but it all started right when we got to Safeco Field. My mom's dear friend Annette works for the team so she gave us a tour of the private suites which were AMAZING! You could practically hear cha-ching echoing throughout the hallways. Then she sat the kids down and gave them a bunch of goodies, including new hats, wristbands, baseball cards and an adorable picture frame. They were so thrilled and it was fun watching them love every second.

The game itself was great and the Mariners stomped all over the Chicago White Sox. Spence was riveted the entire time and can't wait to go back. Our seats were WAY UP HIGH but we didn't care at all. It was a fantastic day and I can't wait to take them again.

As an extra bonus, after the game, all of the kids were invited onto the field to run the bases which was so cool. To see the stadium from that perspective was awesome and we kept telling the kids how lucky they were. They LOVED it and they each got a certificate when the finished that says "I Ran The Bases At Safeco Field" which is now among Spencer's most prized posessions.

Sienna was uncharacteristically good throughout the whole game, which is probabaly due to this....

And the garlic fries? They really ARE what every says....

Spencer's face is priceless! What a great way to end the summer!

Love the picture of you and Sienna, and I'm so impressed that she slept through all of that!

That sounds awesome. Do they let kids on to the field after every game, or was this a special occasion?

You look GREAT in that picture!

That's one of our regrets... my Hubby got to go to a Mariner's game, but we never took the kids. I guess next year we'll have to take them to a game down here
Sounds like you had a really great time!!

We're going to the game on Monday! My kids cannot wait! It's the only "fun" thing we're doing this whole summer. Our house has taken every single free minute we have but we had to get out of town atleast once. Cameron is so excited because he's been following the stats this whole season. And since they're playing the Angels, it's going to be a BIG game!

So glad you posted these pics. We really can't wait to go now! I was wondering the same thing as Marilyn - do they always invite the kids to run the bases? My kids would be all over that!

I think the running the bases was a special thing they do a few times a year, but I'm not sure.

Marilyn, you're so sweet! I almost didn't post the picture because I look crazy...so thanks!

Awesome family outing for your kids, they will not forget that anytime soon. They look so excited. Last time Riley ate the garlic fries, I couldn't go near him for a week. Those things are strong. Hope you guys havn't had that same experience.

You are beautiful! You're children look so happy and I just love that. Garlic fries... that sounds fantastic. One thing that is throwing me, you're wearing a jacket??????? Crazy. It's ALWAYS mid-90's here with humidity so high it's like walking in pea soup- day and night.

Glad y'all had fun.
