They Should Really Come With A Warning Label

Last night we had some friends over and we decided to carve pumpkins. (Um, Heather, hello???)

Anyway, I was cleaning up dinner and helping my girls with their pumpkins when I decided to dive right in and get Squish's pumpkin cleaned out. She was literally picking out a seed at a time and while I wanted her to explore and have fun, I also wanted her to hurry the freak up.

So I'm scraping, I'm pulling, I'm up to my elbows in goop and gunk when all of a sudden, my thumb and finger started KILLING ME. I went and cleaned off my hands, looked for what was causing my fingers to throb in pain but couldn't find anything. I didn't say anything to anyone because really, who gets hurt carving pumpkins?

The pain literallly kept me up for awhile last night and when I woke up this morning, the tops of my finger and thumb were bright red and still throbbing. BIZAARE to say the least.

I still have no idea what I did and I laugh at myself, because it's funny and silly and completely my life. A pumpkin injury. Who knew?

Maybe the pumpkin fought back, in order to save itself.

That is weird, I've never heard of this happening. Of course if it's never been heard of before, we can rest assured that you'll have an experience with it!

The last time we carved pumpkin I got some specialty kind and as I got the pumpkin on my arms I broke out in a horrible rash... so fun.

WOW, now that is kinda funny. Maybe Pasco pumpkins are pathologic. Oh Karen, you make me laugh...only you get a swollen finger from scooping a pumpkin. So, what happened to friends week? I was all excited to read about us. Did you decide that we weren't worthy? If so, we may have words.

What in the world? It must be Pasco's proximity to Hanford...you guys have some radioactive pumpkins growin' there that cause strange side effects. Hope you feel better soon, next time wear some heavy duty rubber gloves.

Friends week IS coming, I promise. You are more than worth my time, but I am literally SO SWAMPED with everything I haven't had two seconds to myself. Why else would I be on the computer at 11:40 at night???????

The attack of the pumpkin mush! That's an injury that's surely hard to explain. Did you still get the carving done?
