Welcome To The Best Day Ever!

Seriously. The best day ever. Right here folks.

I started off the day with the friendly ultrasound tech who weighed and measured Baby Boy J to figure out why I look like this. And while she played coy and was trying not to say anything one way or the other, I could tell by the gleam in her eye that the news was nothing but awesome for me.

Fast forward to Doctor T bursting into the exam room all smiles and hoorays when he tells me the news I've been wanting to hear but never thought I would:

"Your due date IS wrong."

"You are SIX weeks further along than we thought!"

I know! Can you believe it??? I was so incredibly excited because it now feels like I might have a chance at making it through the rest of this pregnancy. The huge belly. The searing pain. The feeling of being stretched to the max. Who can't tolerate that for another FIVE weeks??? FIVE WEEKS people! Can you see me with a baby in just five short weeks? I know. It's amazing. I thought stuff like this only happened in the movies.....

Um, yeah. It does only happen in the movies.

Happy April Fools people!

(I know, the joke is really on me, but it was still fun, right???)

Now for the real story.

I had my blood drawn for the diabetes testing and wouldn't you know? My numbers were too high so now I'm scheduled for the three hour fasting test to verify that I do have diabetes. All signs are pointing that way so I'm slowly prepping myself for it.

And, the baby is measuring a bit big, but not off the charts so they are saying I'm a week ahead, but that is all. Doc T didn't want to move my date so I am still due in June. The end of June. A mere 11 weeks away. Rock on.

Then, to deal with the immense pain I'm having from the fractured pelvis that Hannah gave me during delivery (thanks sweetie!) I have been given a prescription for a brace that will hopefully alleviate some of my discomfort. Sure that will be cute. Oh. And I was told to "be down as much as possible." That should be no problem with the THREE OTHER CHILDREN I have running around. But the pressure of being up is causing the fracture to worsen so I'm to be off my feet as much as possible. Um yeah. No sweat.

And I gained five pounds. Righty-o. Thanks Easter bunny.

Other than that, I am feeling awesome. I told you it was the best day ever.

Karen,

Like I said you look awesome. I feel your pain and I know of the joys of measuring big and having Diabetes (induced by pregoness) Well, here is to the magic of counting carbs and living for things with a whole lotta fiber (you can eat more of something depending on the fiber content)

I forgot it was April fools, so you fooled me. I should have known that usually when something seems too good to be true, it is too good to be TRUE. Thanks for the laugh! Sorry you're in pain. Leave it to you to be finding the humor in it. You're awesome!

You are tricky!! Come on! Better 11 weeks than.... oh, say 28???

I was eating a Peanut Butter egg as I read your post, so I'm sure the weigh in on Friday won't be so great for me!!

You had me going too! Good luck with your fasting test. I hated having to do that, but at least it will give some more answers. Happy April Fool's Day!

Ohhh...I had the fractured pelvis with Natalie. NO. FUN. AT. ALL. I was in a wheelchair by the last four weeks. Take it easy. Ask for help. I'd be happy to come over and help any way I can. Loved your humor, though. All I did was cry. :-)

You got me for sure. I was about to say that you have achieved every pregnant womans dream. All I can say is I'm sorry it's not true. Good luck with the testing. So sorry you're uncomfortable.

I'm so dang gullible. Thanks for making me feel like a schmuck. :)

Good luck with the whole staying off your feet thing...doesn't sound like an easy task for a mommy.

I hope the next 11 weeks fly by 'cause I can't wait to meet Baby J!!

I was fooled too. But as I was reading I was thinking, how did she not know she was pregnant for 1 month and a 1/2???

Fractured pelvis sounds very painful. hope you can be pampered as much as possible!

That was a clever April Fool's joke! I was suspicious but hopeful for your sake... wouldn't that be so awesome to be done sooner than you thought??? Hope that brace gives you some relief!

Karen, I am reading this on April 2nd, and the thought never entered my mind that it could be a joke. SO I was very bummed for you, when I got to the April Fools part.

Hang in there!

Oh MY! I was getting so excited for you. Getting your 11 weeks of FUN down to 5 weeks - that was talent and truly needed.

But then (as I read on) I thought - YOU ARE SO DANG FUNNY! And I was sorry that it wasn't true.

By the way - can a prego woman even fast for four hours? I remember that that was difficult to do. I couldn't even make it though an straight 8 hour sleeping stint without a little break for FOOD!

UMM... by the way, concerning those 5 lbs, you didn't eat the Easter Bunny - did you?

Aren't you HILARIOUS! So I am a little behind on your blog, since I just found out about it last night, but I'm sitting here thinking, why did I not know that? You got me. So, I love your blog and your posts... I love how they just sound like you. I think you look HOT! and it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, right?
