Dear Spencer, Hannah, Sienna, and Baby Boy J,
What a week we have had! Our days have been full as we have tried to race from one thing to the next and I want to thank each of you for hanging in there with mom. I know it's been hard for you since there isn't a lot I can do right now, but your patience and understanding has been awesome. Once again, you have each made being your mom the very best thing.
If you remember anything about this week, I hope it is this: always surround yourself with good people. They come in all shapes and sizes, from all different parts of the world with different ideas and views, but a good person will carry you far in life. Just this week, our family has been served by so many amazing people and I really couldn't have gotten through the week without them. From the awesome meals brought by Annette, Amanda and Stacia, to Sonja watching you all afternoon and evening, and the the amazing Lindsay, Megan and Camie who came and cleaned yesterday. These are the types of people you should always have in your life and I hope you have learned first hand how important it is to serve those in need. For now, we are on the receiving end of that service, but as soon as I'm able, know that our goal as a family will be to help as many people as we can. I have been so incredibly blessed to know the people I know and the gratitude I have felt this week has been overwhelming. We are so incredibly lucky.
We only have a few weeks left until Baby Boy J finally arrives and I appreciate you guys helping me in so many different ways. You make everything about my life better and I love being your mom. You each bring me more joy than you'll ever know.
Always,
Mama

I am sure that everyone has enjoyed providing you with relief in a time when you need help. That is just what we do. Hang in there.
I'm sure you have given of yourself more than you have ever received- that's just the way you are.
What a fantastic letter and lesson for your kids, it always feels better to give than to receive. That is, unless you happen to be 8 months pregos, in pain, and REALLY appreciate all the help your fantastic friends have been able to give. I think that is just so wonderful! You are lucky to be surrounded by such helpful ladies!
You know, I really had hoped that you wouldn't mention my name. You might start giving me a reputation! ;)
But seriously, my heart goes out to you right now. I know how badly you want to be all "better" and be able to be the mom you "normally" are to your kids. I just want to help in any way I can. Thanks for letting me. It means a lot to me too.
I love these letters to your kids. Good friends are great! I am excited for baby J to get here!
You are so close Karen.
Hang in there. What a blessing to have such wonderful kids.
You always say the sweetest words to those children of yours. They truly are blessed to have you as a mother. And your friends are the most supportive group of women. They are gems.. The longest stretch is here for you. Its nearing the end and then baby J will be here in your arms. And I can't wait to read the 1st letter to him. I better stock up on tissues.
And as I type, Spences dimples are staring me in the face and I am just tickled. What a cute wolfie...
Happy Mothers Day Weekend Karen.
Love you. Love your children. Anything I can do for you, I will. You're SO close.
How wonderful of all those people to help you so much. They truly are examples to me. And I know how hard it is to feel like you can't be the mother you want to be and not be able to. Hang in there, not too much longer.
Hey there... enough of all the mushy stuff... When I am put on bedrest you bet I will expect dinner from you...
So that was a total joke, for people who don't know me. (did I sound super snobby? oops) Good thing you think I'm so funny!
So really, I think you are amazing! I couldn't believe you were at Costco on Friday getting ready to feed a houseful, SERIOUSLY? You are a ROCK! Are you not familiar with the term "BEDREST"? I'm not really either, but I'm pretty sure BED and REST don't mean pushing around a full cart at Costco!
Let me know if I can do anything! You are on the downhill! Its getting close.
By the way I heard a cute name the other day and now I can't remember it. But I'll let you know....
Oh, I got it, Ledger.... Johnson.... Not too shabby!
Happy Mother's Day to one of the most inspirational Moms I know. (I too love your letters to your kids. Thanks for letting me be part of them!)
You're a great mom. Sweet kids too. Hope you had a good Mother's Day yesterday!
I was so glad to be able to help you out!
Oh my goodness!! Look at your "days to baby" counter.... only 28 more to go!! I don't think that thing is correct, I'd bet big bucks that you are delivering baby boy sooner than that. HOORAY, it won't be long now!!
I'm so glad you're letting people help you. I know first hand how wonderful it feels to be served and surrounded by friends that would do anything for you. You are so strong, too. You amaze me. You're going through so much, but you remain positive and unselfish!
Karen, your letters to your children will make the most precious blurb book ever! You will make a blurb book right? You must!
