Anyone Know What P.O.O.F.F Stands For?

Just as I knew we would, we had a fabulous weekend with our guests. We laughed, ate, laughed some more, ate some more, and played a hilarious game of Beyond Balderdash, which should literally be on everyone's Christmas list this year because it's just that much fun. As it turns out, and as a shock to absolutely no one who was bellied up to my table, I am a total rockstar in the Balderdash world. Apparently it has something to do with being able to spin such a masterful web of completely useless garbage and I was in the zone Saturday night. I creamed the competition and loved every minute of it. If you've played regular Balderdash and thought "eh, it's ok" you MUST try Beyond Balderdash because, well, it's just so beyond. So fun, so silly, so much laughter and good times created.

The other thing that happened this weekend is that Brad and I decided it was time to let Austin teach himself how to go to sleep. For the past four months, the littlest Johnson angel has usually fallen asleep while getting in his last meal of the day and from there we would gently lay him down. But as big believers in the "let em' cry it out method" (I know! I can hear the outrage already!) we knew it was time. Four months has always been the break-off point and we were ready. I have to admit, I was a little nervous about the cries I would have to endure, but I also knew it was in his best interest. And mine frankly as I have no desire whatsoever to be rocking a two-year old to sleep.

So we bathed him. We cuddled him. We filled up his belly. And then we laid him down.

All was quiet for a few minutes and I thought "it can't really be this easy, can it?" He started to fuss and was soon crying pretty good, but after 4 minutes and 13 seconds, my angel was asleep. And that little pumpkin snoozed in his bed from 9:30 at night until 7 in the morning.

Apparently, it can be that easy.

I would love to take credit for his awesome demeanor but it's all him. He really is just that good and he has been putting himself to sleep ever since like a champ. I adore him completely.

I am so happy for you guys. It is the best when you know you can go and lay your baby down and they fall right off to sleep.

He is so adorable.

When I look at this picture, it's like looking at a baby Brad. Austin is so dang cute!!

Hooray for sleeping on his own. It really is a great day when they figure it out. And I'm all for the let 'em cry it out method too.

It is so hard to listen to them cry at first, but so awesome when they learn to go to sleep on their own. Yay for you! Get some good nights of sleep now. He is such a little cutie.

Love Beyond Balderdash. I'm horrid at it, but it's very fun.

I love Balderdash, love it. I think I'm better than I actually am though. My definitions are always spectacular, but those who know me can pinpoint my def. from a mile away, that doesn't make for a good game for me. I'll have to try the next version.

Gotta love a boy that sleeps :)
