Look Ma! I'm Mormon!

Ever since my sis-in-law moved to town, I have been seriously busy getting my craft on. On my own, I am not crafty. I can copy things, I can try things I think might look cool, sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing, but real crafting has never been a part of my life. But Jen? She's majorly crafty. Always thinking up ideas and trying them out and always with amazing results.

On Sundays, after everyone is fed and the boys are busy watching football, Jen and I get to work. I've been wanting to do my kids' silhouettes forever but had never gotten around to it. Jen made it happen. I put together a whole wall based on a fantastic idea I saw here and it came together beautifully. I seriously smile every time I'm in the upstairs hallway now.

There are no words. Quite possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen.

My dad snapped this lucky shot last Christmas. I'm completely in love.

I love who you can totally tell who's who in the silhouettes. My Hannah is beautiful.

My brilliant brother-in-law shot this several years ago and although Spence is much older now, I love this picture. It completely sums up Spence to me and I think I will always think of him this way. Happy, content, at ease in his skin. I love that kid.

The whole wall in all it's glory. I purposely asked Brad not to hang them too symmetrical even though my brain begs for it. I love the way it turned out.

It's the first thing I see as I make my way from bedroom every morning and it literally has an effect on me, making me smile, adoring the family I've created, and being so completely happy to be me.

Thanks Jen, for finding my inner crafter.

Thanks Matt, for taking amazing pictures of my kids.

Thanks Brad, for following my not-so-clear directions and satisfying my every whim.

Thanks self, for bring four beautiful kids to this earth.

It looks so great! Maybe I should have Jen help me get my craft on....oh who am I kidding? I don't know if it's possible for ANYONE to help me in the crafting dept.

It turned out really cute! I like how you hung some J's along with it. I can see why this would have you smiling every morning.

I'm with Tiff. I don't think anyone can help me get my craft on. It's just not something I do although I would love to be able to. I am a very good copy-cat as you can tell by the red painted squares on my walls;) Your wall looks amazing!! I love you ladies!! You guys ROCK!!

I love it! Such a cute idea.

Even though Karen gives me all the props, I did NOTHING. She is amazingly crafty. All I did is sit beside her and sew. That is ALL. She needs to give herself more credit. I do love sitting together and crafting though...we do have fun!

These are wonderful all on their own but the collection together is spectacular! I love the intentional randomness, I too struggle with that.

I am a little curious abou the corrolation between silhouettes and being Mormon...should I start planning my Sundays differently?

Mel- the silhouettes aren't a Mormon reference....being crafty is. Mormon's are wickedly crafty...it just made me laugh.

Now, if you want to spend your Sunday's differently, I'm the girl to talk to...I could hook you up. Wink, wink!

So it's OK to copy right? What a beautiful wall. I've got an upstairs hallway wall that needs something, and I think that's perfect. Thanks for the idea.
