Merry & Bright

My photo's are back! Squish, December 2007

I'm reading a magazine.

We'll, not at this exact moment, since I'm writing to you, but you know what I mean.

I had to run to the store for BBQ sauce (BBQ sauce!) and grabbed a mag at the checkout. It's one of my most favorite things.

I'm also admiring my newly painted red fingers and toes. I sat down last night to catch up on some SYTYCD (don't tell me who won; I'm not there yet) and was all set to do my usual winter routine of Bordeaux on the toes and Barely There Pink on my fingers when I saw the bottle of red. It called for me and now I'm all decked out with splashes of holly berries. I love it. Makes me festive.

I should be tackling the kitchen floors (sugar cookies yesterday, you know the drill) or changing over the laundry or addressing some more Christmas cards (yes! they are done! Not at all what I had planned but mighty fine nonetheless) or praying for Spence as he tackles his first acting role in the school play tonight (upgraded from his one worded "myrrh" to the Angel Gabriel on Tuesday! Two pages of script to memorize! Good thing he's a genius!) but I'm not doing any of that.

I'm reading a magazine.

And admiring my toes.

Isn't that what Christmas is all about?

Red toes certainly are merry and bright! I am so glad your pictures are back, that is something to celebrate! That and Spencer as the Angel Gabriel. Enjoy the day:)

Admire all you want, I'm sure your fingers and toes are gorgeous!

Spence will do great tonight! I can't wait to see it.

Sounds like a great way to celebrate Christmas to me. Enjoy watching SYTYCD, I loved this season and even Connor is a fan! :)

You deserve it Karen, yesterday was a zoo. You are the most gracious hostess though! We had a blast (even if I was tired).

this post makes me happy. maybe it's the striped tights - maybe it's the Bordeaux - maybe it's the laid back magazine read. It's the sweetest and I'm happy for your minute of rest.
