Thursday Happenings

::My husband took off on his bike to school this morning despite my prodding to drive. It was 17 degrees when he left. He later called and asked me to buy him a "robber mask" because his head is so cold. Really? Isn't there an easier way to solve this problem? It's called a CAR.

::I took four kids under 5 to Lowe's this morning to buy all the fixings to turn one ordinary dresser into a school store. Wheels and PVC pipe is involved. This will either prove to be one of my more brilliant ideas or one of the dumbest things I've ever tried to do. Results pending. Cross your fingers for me.

::I'm currently in the middle of baking two brownie cheesecakes for enrichment tonight. I want to eat them right. now.

::We're headed to Couer d'Alene this weekend and I couldn't be more excited. One of my favorite people is about to give birth and we're itching to celebrate.

::Spence is amazed that one of his best buddies managed to memorize both their parts in the Christmas play at school. While Quentin has lots to say, Spence, as the most handsome Shepard of all time, only utters "myrrh." Bad news Spence: I think we've all just memorized your part.

::Yesterday at gymnastics Hannah pulled out the "too hard" card and rolled around on the floor like a donkey giving birth while everyone else busted out their sit ups and push ups. When we got home I had her practice with me and she miraculously transformed into one of the Tae Bo girls. What is that about?

::Austin now weighs a full ten pounds more than his miniature cousin who is a mere15 hours older than him. We're hoping Jenny Craig has a tot program.

::The Christmas cards are still at a stand still. A normal person would throw in the towel. Good thing I'm anything but!

::I'm super stoked about the family pictures Uncle Matty shot for us last weekend. My kids are gorgeous! I've got a whole idea in mind for the living room and I can't wait to dive in . Hint, hint, Uncle Matty...

::Don't you just love Thursdays? The weekend is almost here!

You had me at "rolling around on the floor like a donkey giving birth."

I had cheesecake mishap after mishap last night. I'm pretty sure it looks and tastes like a pile of poo. I'm totally eating one of your pieces tonight and not mine.

How do you DO all of that Karen? I was exhausted just reading your blog. You simply amaze me.

BTW. I didn't forget about the posters, I will try and have them done and up early next week.

I second Karen's suggestion, Brad...DRIVE to school! But I also have to give him huge thumbs up for his motivation.

Oh, I can't wait to see the school store. Sounds like it's going to be great.

I'm curious...how much does Austin weigh? Baby Oliver was 23 lbs at his appt. yesterday. He's barely eight months old. Uh huh.

Karen, You can tell Brad that most bicyclist I know have this rule: "Don't ride when the temperature drops below freezing." For me, it's anything below 40. Two reasons. Wind Chill, and Icy Roads. This is from the guy who broke his shoulder and dislocated a collar bone from a spill on a slippery road.

You are most definitely not normal... and I mean that in a good way. I can't wait to see how all your projects come out.

I laughed about the donkey giving birth. My kids do that too.

The dresses- Jer's mom bought Brynn's at Costco and Ella's I think came from Kohl's. But I could be wrong. I'll double check.
