Kicking Butt And Taking Names

I've got a new adventure in the works.

I'll give you some hints:

*I'll be outdoors overnight
*I'll be hanging out with some amazing people
*I'll probably alternate between utter joy and tears for hours at a time
*I'll be doing my part

Can you guess?

I've joined up with Relay For Life and am captaining my own team! Relay for Life is an amazing opportunity put on by the American Cancer Society as a way for everyday people, those of us personally affected by cancer and those of us who have escaped it's wrath so far, to join in the fight and help find a cure. All we have to do is commit to raise some money and then spend a beautiful summer night walking our tooshies off. All they have to do is find a cure.

Our part is way easier.

What can be better than that?

I won't get all soapboxy on you and tell you what you need to do. I will say this: CANCER SUCKS. Plain and simple and this is something I can do to help.

Want to join me?

If you do, click here and join my team. This year's relay is being held on June 18th and 19th (which is unfortunately my son and my husband's birthdays) which means we only have 158 days to raise some serious cash. I will be having a meeting in the next few weeks here at my house and we'll go from there.

If you can't join me but would still like to help, let me know in the comments and I will kindly take some cash off your hands. Whether you're walking with me that night or signing your name to a check, your efforts will make a difference.

Here's our team motto:

There is in every true woman's heart a spark of heavenly fire,
which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity; but which
kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.

-Washington Irving

So go on. Clickety click. Sign up and join me. You know you want to.

And I promise you it will be worth it.

I would totally love to join your team, but I think I may be a moron because I didn't know how to sign up.

Ryan's family is full of survivors and some who haven't made it. They have a team each year. It is so fun and a great experience.

And I would love to do it with you, but we will be in Cleveland for the hydrocephalus convention that week.
