Next Stop, Hogwarts

I may be the last person IN THE WORLD to be able to say this, but I finally finished the Harry Potter Series.

I know. It's ridiculous.

Spence flew through them quite some time ago, begging me to read them as well but I never got around to it. Then he read them again, IN SPANISH, and I felt like a loser so I finally picked them up.

And I thoroughly enjoyed them. I was slower to catch on than most, obviously, but I did understand what all of the hype was about. The underdog you can't help but fall in love with and root for. The villain who meets his match. The loyal friends who stand by and support him all the way. I was amazed at JK Rowling's intricacies...how something mentioned in the 2nd book came back in full force later on in the story. How an interesting side story becomes something huge. How she laid out the entire journey on a train ride through Europe. I get it. It was fantastical and brilliant and captivating and I loved it. I'll even admit that I've sort of been missing Harry these last few days.

I'm not quite ready to start surfing through mugglenet.com, but I loved it.

What are you reading these days? My Nook is itching to be loaded up with great reads.

did Spencer read Percy Jackson or the Kane Chronicles? I read the Percy Jackson series and just started the Kane chronicles. They are not HP, but they are a fun adventure read, especially if you have a kid who is into them.

I can't tell you how happy it makes me that you not only read them, but you also loved them!! Why? I don't know. I just love these books so much! Yes, I'm a geek.

They are magical! She is an amazing writer, each book seemed crafted for the age of the charactors like they were meant to grow with our kids as they read them.

as for current reads-I am having serious block. I tried to get all smarty pants and read the Alchemist. I got something out of it, I am just not sure I got what I was suppose to. Let me know if you come across something good:)

You're not the last person - because I still haven't read book 7 (and it's been driving Donald crazy for YEARS that he hasn't been able to discuss it in front of me...lol!)
