SFTC, Day 7--AUCTION CLOSED

I guess I slept in a bit on this first day of summer! What a lovely feeling. My kids are old enough now that they figure themselves out in the morning and Brad and I slept on and on. It's going to be a fantastic summer!

My sweet friend Jessica won that delicious cake yesterday and when she came to pick it up, she handed me some folded up bills and I quickly set them on the counter and turned to chat. It wasn't until after she left that I unrolled it all to find that she paid me almost TWICE the winning bid amount! I ran out of the house to flag her down and she waved me away and called out her window "It's for your team! It's for a good cause!" and drove away.

I'm still a little stunned by it. Thank you Jessica, for supporting me by bidding in the first place and then going above and beyond. I'm touched by your generosity and the generosity of everyone else that has either donated or bought this past week. This has been such a neat experience for me and I'm so grateful to everyone.

And to Tiffani...um, yeah, that was the prettiest Buckeye Cake I've ever seen but what made it even better is that it came from you and I know you sprinkled in some extra goodness. I appreciate your friendship and willingness to help me out. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Onto today! When I called this girl to see if she'd be willing to donate, there was a big pause on the other end of the phone and she said "I don't think anyone will bid on that, but I'll do it if you want me to." Oh, how I love me some Megan! Megan was my first official friend when we moved here and has taught me more than I care to admit. She guided me through my first pregnancy, (and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th) taught me how to be a mom in those early days, helped me through the long hours that my husband was away, working two jobs and pursuing his Master's Degree. She is faithful, loyal, hilarious and rock solid; Megan is one of those people I can call at any time and she will be there for me, no matter what. I love you!

Megan has been a hair stylist to most of our little town for the past several years. She cuts and colors pretty much everyone I know and she is amazing at it. But a few weeks ago, Megan retired and left all of us and our limpy locks in the lurch! Ok, she wants to spend more time with her family, blah, blah, blah, but this news shook our little community and left us scrambling. But for you all ladies who love you some Megan, she has agreed to donate one cut and color to the highest bidder!

I'm excited to see this one play out because if you're like me, having one more sit in the chair with Megan has your heart racing. Bid away girls! Let's see who will have cute hair this summer!

As always, bidding starts at $10 and will end at 9 pm tonight. Click over here to make a separate donation.

THANKS!
