The First Project of Twenty-Ten

After being married to the brother of an amazing photographer for 12 1/2 years, I finally, FINALLY, ordered up a collage for our living room. Every year, Uncle Matty patiently takes our pictures and then tweaks them to perfection and every year I say "this is the one I'm going to order!"

But I never do.

Because,

because,

because.

I don't really have a good excuse.

But this year, I did it! Four beautiful 11 x 14s of my sweet children and one monster 24 x 36 of the whole family.

And they are gorgeous.

I wanted to do something different and not just hang in them in the general family-pictures-on-the-wall sort of way. I came up with an idea that would either turn out brilliant or ridiculous (as most of my ideas do) and am happy to report that I'm in love with the results. My sweet Riz agreed to help me out and did a fabulous job.

What do you think?

It definitely looks better in person (which means you should really stop by) but I'm pleased as punch with what we've done. I think I could beautify the whole planet with a little bit of wainscoting and some black paint.

Next up: the laundry room. I'm so excited about what this cute girl and I have in mind for there..

Love it! The cool thing too is that I bet the wainscotting made it super easy to line up all the pictures. Great job.

I think it looks fabulous. I really didn't have a visual when you were telling me about it but it turned out great.

And you said just this afternoon that you are not creative! That is it. You are officially on the hook for creative ideas. This looks fantastic!

Um...I LOVE it, fantastic and clever idea!!! But seriously, you could have hung those pictures on top of a pile of garbage and they still would have looked AMAZING! :)
